As the season for inclement weather approaches in parts of the United States and COVID-19 cases increase globally, the United States Medical Licensing Examination® (USMLE®) program would like to remind examinees where to find information about the status of test centers and their testing appointments.

Prometric Website

Before scheduling or rescheduling a testing appointment, you can reference Prometric’s test center closures to see if your testing site has been temporarily closed for any reason, such as extreme weather, pandemic impacts or technical issues. You can also refer to Prometric’s site status to see if your testing center is running at full or limited occupancy.

Before your testing appointment, please refer to Prometric’s COVID-19 test center policies and remember to bring a mask to your testing center. Examinees are required to wear masks during the entirety of their time at the test center.

USMLE Website and Social Media

On the USMLE website, you can find a COVID-19 Resource Center. This resource includes the  latest announcements and FAQs pertaining to USMLE and COVID-19. Announcements are also shared on USMLE social media (Facebook and Twitter).

For information about Step 1, Step 2 CK and Step 3 that is unrelated to COVID-19, please be sure to review the USMLE Bulletin of Information. You can also find a more general set of USMLE FAQs here.

After reviewing these resources, if you still have questions about your USMLE examination, you can contact the USMLE program here.
