On Thursday, Aug. 27, 2020, the United States Medical Licensing Examination® (USMLE®) Step 2 Clinical Knowledge (CK) was administered at 63 medical schools across the United States. So far, last week’s event involved the largest number of participating schools for this alternate delivery method of USMLE. Earlier this summer, USMLE Step 1 was administered through testing events on July 30 at 29 medical schools and Aug. 13 at 38 medical schools.

These testing events are the result of months of planning, coordination and training between USMLE program staff and medical school representatives to achieve a shared goal of expanding testing opportunities for examinees who may have had test dates delayed due to state and local stay-at-home orders and social distancing guidelines necessitated by COVID-19.

USMLE Step 2 CK will be administered at participating medical schools again on Sept. 10, 2020. Information and status updates about the testing event will be published on USMLE.org.

The USMLE program greatly appreciates the hard work and dedication of the participating medical schools to help ensure these administrations run smoothly.
